Narrative: Valo’s Night of Diamonds

LI: To structure and write a narrative

</. p>
I used a Gemini Gem to help us add detail to a narrative. Our Gem asked us questions that made us think of different ways we could add detail and description to our narrative. When I finished I used the Storybook feature in Gemini to create an illustrated version. This was a bit harder to do because I had to keep adjusting the prompts to get as close to my original narrative as I could. I had to do this because Gemini wanted to write the story without using my ideas.

Something I found interesting was how fast Gemini made the storybook. It was fun to do.

Place Value

For maths we started learning about place values. That means we looked at how numbers are written in columns, like ones and tens. We practiced figuring out where each number should go. My favorite part was when I found out where the number goes, like when I add 50 cents and 1 dollar and get 1 dollar and 50 cents.

Building our class culture

For our art project we are exploring themes of leadership and determination through portature our focus is on individuals reowned for their unwavering commitment to a cause.Working in groups of six were chosen to depict Kate Shepppard who is widely recognised as pivotal leader in securomg voting rights for women in New Zealand.

Addition

In LS2 we practiced Addition using an algorithm,   We learned how to do the Addition correctly and ensure our answers are accurate. Something I found  liked most was figuring out the problem by following the right strategies.

Multiplacation

we practiced multiplication using an algorithm,. We learned how to do Multiplacation correctly and to see if our anwser are right.Somthing I Enjoyed is that I thought Multiplacation would be hard but it just the oppsite of Devision.

Johnny Pohe

For reading we were learning about Johnny Pohe and his great escape. Johnny Pohe was a pilot that taught people and fought in wars, one day he got caught and was sent to prison camp in Germany. Him and other people that were caught in the prison made up a play to make three tunnels Tom, Dick and Harry. Dick and Tom were exploded and abandoned and Harry was the last standing one, they waited for a moonless night to escape.

Five by Night

LI: To write a narrative from the point of view of a baby owl on its fist flight.

The sun had gone down behind the hills and the moon began to rise. The stars came out. When I was standing on the high branch I looked at the sky and I could see tiny little stars like diamonds. Tonight was the night I was going to begin the journey .I felt scared and nervous. When the moon was in the right place I asked my mom if I could begin. My mom said I have to wait for the perfect time to do it.When the moon reflected on the water it was magical.

There was one thing in the way and it was three eagles surrounding the tree and  it was for sure  he wasn’t going to make it out. My heart was beating fast.

My mom whispered my mom told me to be calm and spread  my wings to fly

The eagles laughed at me and said I can’t even fly. My mom said look there to the eagle and my mom pushed me off the branch. I remember what my mom said to me. I spread my wings and suddenly I was flying.

The problem was simple to solve. All I had to do was fly in circle ‘s then crash into each other and spreaded my wings and flew off into the distance.

I looked back and saw my mom.  My mom said we were safe. Than we went home. I was scared and a little bit happy because i learned how to fly.

Today we were writing about fly by night and we said it in our own words. Then me and my partner winston used our imagination for this and came up with our own story.

We carry on with the writing untill we have the solution to and show our teacher then we finishedd and wen’t to lunch.
